FAQ
WHAT do you do? I work one-on-one with clients by focusing on their specific needs and what is important to them. I help folks keep their care on track with less stress and support their overall well-being by handling the business end of being a patient or caregiver so they can focus on receiving the care they need.
HOW? I take some of the nasty bits off your plate so you don’t swallow more than you have to. I will do the things you don’t have time or energy to do: I will make the calls. I will manage the paperwork. I can find you specialists and help schedule medical testing. I will deal with the demands and potholes of insurance companies and the medical system.
FOR EXAMPLE? I can assist with finding medical professionals and specialists to provide treatment and testing, both in new medical situations and when seeking second or additional opinions. I can help you prioritize and articulate your concerns and brainstorm questions you may have for a new or existing doctor or therapist. I can help identify the support you need—including resources you may already have around you—so that getting help is a relief rather than one more thing to have to coordinate. I will do the things in my power to ease the burdens of getting the care you or your loved one deserves.
Why SU? Informed but my 25+ years of lived experience as a patient and a caregiver in a variety of major medical and chronic health care situations, combined with my professional training and experience as a librarian and information professional, I have developed a broad range of skills to navigate and troubleshoot the process of getting necessary and deserved care. I don’t know everything, but I can find out almost anything. You don’t have to do this alone. I’ve been there before and I’m here for you now.
